With many years of fishing experience all throughout the keys and Caribbean, he has built up a keen knowledge of the area. He has worked on many boats, both large and small, and fished for just about every species you can find in the keys. He is also an avid tournament fisherman. Fishing has always been his passion and he looks forward to all the new customers and adventures running The Provider Freeman 34.
Captain Brooks
Capt. Brooks grew up fishing all throughout the Hilton Head Island SC area, which is where he spent time as both a captain and mate learning the ins and outs of saltwater fishing. He had the opportunity to spend a lot of time on the water and really started to think about fishing as a career after high school. In 2009 he had the opportunity to move to Islamorada and has been fishing the waters ever since.
Islamorada is the Sport-fishing capital of the world for a reason
From Sharks, Snappers and groupers on the reefs and wrecks, to mahi-mahi, tunas, wahoo, and swordfish offshore, Islamorada has more epic species of fish to catch than anywhere else in the world. Captain Brooks knows the Islamorada surrounding waters as good as anyone and will set you up right depending on the conditions. Unlike other charters in the Florida Keys he loves to make his customers feel involved on the trip. So, don’t be scared to get your hands dirty with him and to help in any way possible. He isn’t the type of captain that likes to do a “hook and pass”.
Be Part of The Crew
You will be involved from the time the boat leaves the dock at the The Postcard Inn and Marina, until the boat is back safely in the slip. During the trip, you will be assisting him with catching live bait, to pitching baits at running fish, to helping put out a trolling spread. He will also be teaching you WHY we are fishing the way we are. There is no such thing as a stupid question so please ask him if your curious.
